Uzbekistan is geographically unique in that it is located in the center of Central Asia. Uzbekistan shares borders with all of Central Asia's other countries, as well as Afghanistan. Since Uzbekistan's recent policy shift, the EU has been actively engaging with the country. In fact, recent political developments in the country have paved the door for greater international cooperation and enhanced investment and economic opportunities. Uzbekistan is a close ally of the European Union when it comes to supporting and advancing multilateralism's ideas. Furthermore, Uzbekistan has shown a strong desire to improve relations with the EU.
